Spectrum Gamma Ray Tool

Overview

Spectrum Gamma Ray Tool is an instrument logging the natural gamma radiation. It measures the entire gamma ray spectrum from 0 to 3000 keV, records the total amount of gamma rays and provides quantitative measurements of the Potassium, Thorium and Uranium contents of the formation.

Application

  • Used in all mud systems and dry boreholes
  • Identifies Potassium, Thorium and Uranium contents
  • Identifies deposition of radioactive salts behind the casing
  • Calculation of shale content
  • Facies and depositional environment analysis
